Linux@Brown

Linux@BROWN is an effort by CCV to establish a repository and informal support for a select set of Linux distributions, third party applications and their configuration for use at Brown.

Documentation     Beta Announcement

tuxThe ideas for what to provide and how to do it are lifted liberally from the Linux@DUKE project. Like Duke, we are focusing on the CentOS build of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for servers and production desktops, and Fedora for the more adventurous.

At the time of this announcement we have established mirrors of both the Centos and Fedora distributions. These are synchronized nightly with the mirrors kept at mirror.mcs.anl.gov, and are available to the Brown campus (i.e., only from Brown network addresses or through Brown VPN connections) at http://www.ccv.brown.edu/linux/centos/ and http://www.ccv.brown.edu/linux/fedora/ .

Questions about the Linux@BROWN project can be directed to support^/\^at^/\^ccv.brown.edu.
