An Overview of the BlueGene/L Supercomputer
Jose G. Castanos, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center
The BlueGene/L Supercomputer is a massively parallel system of 65,536 nodes, based on system-on-a-chip technology. It is expected to deliver target peak processing power of 360 teraFLOPS for applications that can utilize both embedded PowerPC processors on a node. The machine is scheduled to be operational in the 2004-2005 time frame, at price/performance and power consumption/performance targets unobtainable with conventional architectures.
